Switching plans: Applied when current plan is up?

So currently I have a 90-day plan that has 333MBs (1GB spread among 3 months) and I want to upgrade that to another 90-day plan that has more data. My next pay cycle is coming up towards the end of February and I'd like to know whether it is possible to have my new plan applied whenever the current one is up. This is important since I want to be able to use whatever I have left on the current one, but I also don't want to pay for the old one on top of the new one.

So in short, my question is: when you purchase a new plan, is it immediately charged to your payment method and your current plan is canceled, or can it wait until the current plan is finished and then charge for the new plan?

Thanks for your response! It helps out alot. 🙂

@Acekiller, the option to future date only has one date possible.  It is always on your renewal.  There is no option to select another date.

Sorry.... just re-read your post.  You did mention data expiring.... yes, waiting for that date (if you know it's going to happen before renewal) is an option.

Unfortunately, not futuredating a plan change can be problematic, if the plan expires, or if the plan you want is suddenly nolonger available.

A Future dated plan will lock in whatever promo or in-Market plan you select now.

future date is the way to go, but if you dont' know when you will finish your current data, then change to the new plan when your data is actually done.

When you change your plan in Self serve, you can future date it to the end of your billing cycle.   So you dont waste your current unused data.

@kingstk, Hi there. How do you do? Thank you for your question.

Actually when you change the plan, the system prompts you a message to notify that you will be charged in full for the new plan and will lose the current one. So if you change the plan right now, you will lose the one you currently have and will be charged in full for the new one as this is a prepaid service.

However for further assistance with the plan change, can you please send us a private message with your phone# and PIN#? Here is the link on how to:  http://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Knowledge-Base/All-you-need-to-know-about-our-Communit... . Hopefully this helps and answers to your inquiry!  Thank you!

@kingstk, yes it is possible.  You just need to go into the self serve site and choose change Plan.  You pick the plan you want to change to and there is the option for immediate change or future date change.  If you choose future date change it will change when your plan is set to renew.
