My data speed remains capped at 3g(1mb/second) despite being on the 4g plan for 6 days now. Does something different need to happen?

That's not right, @kmvmacdonald
When you log into self-serve, does it confirm your plan type? If so, try rebooting your device and then go into your network connections to see if perhaps you may have 3G enabled as opposed to LTE/4G. Try resetting your network connections to see if your device picks up the LTE setting.
