Hey actually I put the sim in my iphone and it perfectly had signal .. but when I put in my moms phone it doesn’t work .. it says no service .. I just got this sim and the retailer said its gud to go .. what should I do ??

The version of the 4a sold in India is 100% not compatible with public mobile.

As @will13am noted, it features 900MHz and 2100MHz 3G frequencies (for use with Indian carriers), while Public Mobile (Telus) operates on 850MHz and 1900MHz. This phone will not work here. You can use it with Rogers, Fido, or Chatr until such time as Rogers shuts down their legacy 2G GSM network (I believe some time in 2020).

It seems likely that phone may not be compatible.

Since the sim worked on your iPhone, there is nothing wrong with the sim or your account. I am pretty its the phone that is either not compatible or locked to another carrier.

The problem is with the phone. This thing does not have 850/1900 Mhz on 3G.

its an indian phone though .. so she brought it in canada and she has no idea if its locked or not .. is there any way to know if her phone is locked or not ..? her phone is redmi and model number- redmi 4a model name - 2016116

@Mankiranbahad, could you provide a bit more information please so we can help with troubleshooting. Did you activate yourself via the online portal or was it done at a retailer? Are you able to go into the self serve account or is that not possible.

@Mankiranbahad it's possible your mother's phone is locked to her previous provider. Or, incompatible. We can help with the compatbility question if you let us know the brand and model number (be as specific as possible), or you can check for yourself at https://www.willmyphonework.net.

If it works in your phone but not your mom's then it's an issue with your mom's phone.
What phone is she using? Is it compatible with pm?
