@lee18

You will need to contact a CS_Agent to assist you with the PUK.
If you have a Samsung phone, you will need the PUK to unlock the phone so contact Samsung Canada at 1-800-726-7864.

@lee18

You have to ask for it from the CSAs by sending them a private message.

HI @lee18

You have setup a PIN for the SIM card and it was locked after multiple failed attempts?  Yes, if it is that kind of PUK code, PM Support can provide you the code.    Click on the Bubble or directly at : https://publicmobile.ca/chatbot. Follow this to get to ticket open screen quicker:

  1. Type:  Unlock a phone
  2. Click "Sim card PUK"
  3. Click "Contact Us"
  4. Click "Click her to submit a ticket"
  5. you will then direct to another page to open ticket.

After ticket is submitted, make sure to check your Community Inbox(top right corner envelope icon) periodically for response from PM's CS Agent

If you have problems submitting a ticket, you can also send a private message to the moderators (but this can take longer):

@lee18  Did you just recently activate and get that message?

The default SIM PIN in order to set a SIM lock is 1234.

The following should help delineate the various PIN messages that can occur:

"SIM network PIN blocked. Enter SIM network PUK." is asking for the phone’s (often Samsung) “master code" after entering the wrong code too many times. Samsung and/or your previous carrier can give you this. Try: https://chatbot.samsungcs-canada.com/chatbot?source=dotcom

"SIM network unlock PIN" is asking for your previous carrier's unlock code - just contact them with your IMEI and they'll give it to you. If you enter this incorrectly too many times, you'll get the error message above.

“PIN unlock key (PUK)” is a SIM-specific code used to prevent unauthorised use of a SIM card.

This PIN (Personal Identification Number) enables secure access to the SIM card and network. It is on your SIM card. PM SIM cards do not require a PIN to activate.

  • If the PIN code is entered incorrectly 3 times, the phone is locked (except for emergency calls) and requires a PUK (Personal Unlock Key) to reactivate it.
  • Once the PUK is recovered and validated, you will be asked to choose a new PIN.
  • Only Public Mobile's CSAs can give you this type of code, which the device manufacturer cannot. Public Mobile's CSAs can be contacted by submitting a ticket at: https://widget.telus.tiia.ai/publicmobile/publicmobile.html
  • Caution! If the PUK is entered incorrectly ten times in a row, the SIM card becomes unusable.
