Sim/Porting number

When I put my PM sim card into my fairly old device ( LGC441 ) it shows as locked to my current Virgin ( Bell ) carrier. Does anyone know with my PM sim card in this device if I press unlock and follow the instructions I will afterwards NOT BE ABLE TO PUT BACK my Virgin sim card into this device to temporarily continue my service with Virgin? I’m waiting for a new phone to arrive and in the meantime don’t want to give up my Virgin service just yet as I want to eventually port my Virgin phone number to PM.

Once you contact Virgin to get you device unlocked, then you should be able to use a sim from any carrier globaly.

In Canada, any device sold after Dec 1 2017 should come unlocked.

So as long as you sim is active with Virgin, it should continue to work on any unlocked device.

@Kez yes, they are required by law to do it for free. You may also contact the manufacturer directly and ask them to unlock it for you .

You need to call Virgin or login to your Virgin account online to unlock your LG-C441 first before you can use it with PM.

You can put your PM SIM card in your LG phone.  If it is locked, it will ask for an unlock code.  After testing with a PM SIM card, you can put back your Virgin SIM card as if nothing had happened.

Please note that you Virgin number must be active before you can port your Virgin number to PM.

@Kez You will have to call Bell/Virgin and they will unlock your phone for free of charge. Once that is done, any carrier sim will work.
