reset network settings and if you have plan 3G manually select network to 3G and reboot phone.
not fix it open ticket with PM support and ask them to check your account and Tower area.

It shouldn't always be 1 bar, but that itself isn't an issue and could actually be a good thing in some cases. Having a low signal reading doesn't always mean that coverage is bad in that area. You could be connected to a high frequency band that doesn't travel far, but the fact that you're picking it up at least means that it's available. The currentl low number of bars that your phone is reporting also tells you nothing about the signal quality and strength of the other network type and frequencies that are available at the location.

I also have 1 bar on my iphone at my home, its works 100% of the time.

Try switching your cellular network to 3G and see if your reception is better.
