I’m planning to use Public Mobile (PM) while travelling in Asia/Europe and understand that they don’t offer roaming. Has anyone been able to keep iMessage (blue bubbles) working with their Canadian phone number while keep dual eSIM (PM + international eSIM) on abroad?
With my previous carrier, Rogers Communications, I was able to:
As long as I didn’t answer calls or send green SMS messages, iMessage still worked with my Canadian number over Wi-Fi or the international eSIM’s data without any roaming charges.
Now that I’ve switched to Public Mobile, I’m expecting the PM line to show “No Service” overseas. I just want to confirm:
If I turn off the PM line/eSIM completely I will loose the ability to text on iMessage over wifi with my number.

you will not get billed for anything above your regular plan cost. iMessage will work anywhere on planet earth as long as you have a robust wifi signal, usually available for free in alot of countries motels, cafe's bars and libarys. Also will work if you buy a travel data package. You'll never get a bill for something you didn't pre-pay for with Public Mobile.
No need to turn off or disable anything in settings. Your Public Mobile service just won't work when in Asia / Europe.
