@Jayne123 Just for your future reference, Telus "family" numbers can be ported from accounts that are suspended, but not closed, to another member.
If you want to maintain your PM account for extended absences here are some ideas: https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Paying-for-your-service/Extended-Absence/m-p/142735#M...

@Jayne123, anytime.
Now, I must get back to this kids' pillow fight. They made me accidentally hit a button, and I got into major doo-doo with one of the Oracles! I basically wiping off doo-doo, and a face full of feathers.

@Jayne123 , yes, the plans are month to month! Prepaid plans only no contracts. Thank goodness for that, eh?
Well, Jayne, you can't change your name anyways...unless, you change it the legal way??
Yes, you cancel your plan, just take off autopay and remove your credit card. Your account will look for any funds, and use that up, or if you have no funds in your account, your account will be suspended. After 90 days, if one hasn't reactivated the plan, the account gets deactivated. And the number can be assigned to someone else.
Hope that helps.

Are all the plans are a month to month thing? Could it be canceled at any time. (I might go abroad for a while and won't need my phone), well, if that covid gets out of the way!!🤦♀️
Cheers
All plans are 30 days long. If you do not pay on your renewal date you have 90 days to pay or your account will be closed.

@Jayne123 You will be asked to choose a new number. And as I said before if you remove your autopay credit card, you have 90 days to reactivate your plan.
I gave you 4 article links above. Read 1, 2 and 4.

@Jayne123 Yes, you could cancel your plan if you decide to go abroad. But, if you plan to keep your phone number you could wait and get your phone number suspended about 90 days and reactive it for a low plan, and do the same process. Unless, you don't care about the phone number, and just cancel your autopay and credit card, and the account will be deactivated after 90 days!

@Jayne123, welcome to the Public Mobile family! You are officially the second person I know who spell their name like yours, with a 'y' in the middle of it. I loved it that way. Very different. The first Jayne I knew, I used to work with, sweet gal...
Anyways, make sure you set up Autopay in your account too, while managing payments for your plan. This way, you get an automatic $2 savings.
If you know of anyone before you port over, make sure you are still with the other cell provider so you can keep your beloved phone number when you come to stay with Public Mobile. If you know anyone with Public Mobile, even better. Why? Because not only will get a $10 credit for signing up, that person who gives you a referral code will get $1 a month off their plan. A win-win situation.
You can also read up on other reward opportunities too.
Again, welcome to the family!

@Jayne123 by cancelling your Koodo account, you lost your phone number And if you remove your credit card from within your self service account, your account will automatically expire within 90 days.

I might go work abroad (when the covid will be over of course, so I won't need my phone anymore) thanks
Don’t cancel Koodo plan or you can’t port your old number to PM.
Plans are every 30 days not month to month.
- As a new customer, we recommend porting a number at activation with the exception of Koodo Prepaid customers.
- We have made some system enhancements to improve the success rate of this activity. So long as the correct information is entered, this process should be seamless
- All other customers: To complete your port-in request, please open our chatbot via this link and type in “port request” to be put in touch with a Moderator.
