SIM Card Shipping / In person pickups

Hello everybody,

First of all I'd just like to express how impressed I've been with the community. Amongst all of the scrambling around to take advantage of the ongoing promotion, I was able to find a lot of useful information through the community discussions.

I've only just heard about the $40 promotion yesterday, which happened to coincide with the expiration of my current phone contract. It also happens that Dave made a post concerning orders not arriving in time. Is there any way that we can find out whether we'll get our cards or not? And in the case that it does not, how can I keep track of any udpates being made with details of the pickup location and time for Toronto?

Thank you for the help,

Mark

EDIT: And of course immediately following the posting of this question, Brooke_C answers my question regarding pickups! That's awesome.

If anyone has any idea of how to get a shipping estimate on already placed orders, feel free to let me know! If not, I guess I can mark this discussion as solved.

@Mark_Exel I'm in the GTA but quick delivery seems to be the norm.

@Mark_Exel Yes, that is normal. Delivery time depends solely on Xpresspost speed. Tuesday orders are, apparently, expected to arrive just in time. Quoting Dave_M:

  • If you order a SIM at this point (Tuesday evening), it will likely not arrive before the promo ends on Sunday. To help with this, we are organizing SIM card pick up locations in Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal for Friday and Saturday for anyone who wants a last minute SIM card. Details to come, but the location will be downtown in each city and the $5 for each SIM will be going to Prostate Cancer in the spirit of Movember.

Do you happen to be in Toronto? That's incredibly fast delivery! I suppose if I don't have anything by Friday morning I'll head to the pickup just in case. Thanks for your help!

Hello,

Yes, I ordered a SIM Tuesday afternoon, immediately after hearing about this promotion. As for pickup updates, Brooke happened to read my mind! http://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Discussions/People-Who-Need-Sim-Cards/m-p/97137/highli...

I received confirmation of my order being placed, but no mention of tracking numbers or an expected delivery date. Is this normal?

This happened to me, I ordered Sunday, it shipped Monday, arrived on Tuesday, and I only got the shipping confirmation today.

Hello,

I was able to get my order in yesterday afternoon, but it looks like they can't guarantee that any orders placed since then will arrive in time. If you're in Toronto, Vancouver or Montreal, you'll be able to pick SIMS up in person http://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Discussions/People-Who-Need-Sim-Cards/m-p/97137/highli...

Just tried to order a SIM. Looks like its too late to get one in time for the Promo. They have put some sort of block on trying to order one.

Anyone have any ideas? I really want to take adavntage of this plan.

Thanks in advance
