Hello,
I am currently visiting Canada with my daughter, and we recently purchased Public Mobile eSIMs.
I purchased an eSIM for myself first. When I tried to download the Public Mobile app from the Google Play Store to activate it, I was unable to do so until I switched to a different Google account. After changing accounts, I was able to download the app and activate my eSIM.
My 17-year-old daughter then purchased an eSIM using my Visa card. However, she was unable to download the Public Mobile app from the Apple App Store because her phone has parental restrictions. She tried creating a new Apple ID, but she still could not download the app.
Because the activation process wasn't working, she purchased another eSIM. Again, she was prompted to download the Public Mobile app for activation, but was still unable to install it.
After searching online, we discovered that she needed to change the country/region of her Apple App Store account to Canada. Once she did that, she was finally able to download the app and activate the eSIM.
When I checked my Visa statement, I found that I have been charged three times by Public Mobile. One of those eSIMs was never activated and never will be.
I would like a refund for the unused eSIM.
I would also appreciate an explanation as to why customers are charged before the app compatibility or availability is verified. If downloading the app is required to activate the service, it seems reasonable that this prerequisite should be confirmed before payment is processed.
Thank you, and I look forward to your prompt response
