Renewing US add-ons while on the road (in the USA)

We plan to be in the US for 18 days. I will get the 10 day add ons as we have in the past when our time there was just 9 days. On our next longer trip - My question: once the first 10 days expires and we immediately purchase another 10 days, does the second 10 days start immediately or is there a delay?

Thanks for the confirmation of the 24 hour delay - this is what I had heard elsewhere. Simple solution - approximately 8 days into our US trip we will be in a "No Service" area for about 3 days. There will be wifi however. I can start the first 10 days so they expire during the time we are in the no service area and purchase another 10 days while there that should be active when we emerge from the no service area. Works for me!

@ve7rhf  You would need to submit a ticket have the funds in your account for the second addon purchase and ask if the moderator can set it up so that the second on can be activated immedistely after the first one expires.
