Hi. My son is currently having trouble with RCS not being able to connect (we just ported his number over). Did you figure out how to fix the issue?

No you are referring as rebooting your phone.
You need to go to Settings-General Management-Reset-Reset Mobile Network Settings.
If you connect to home wifi while at home. You need to re-enter the password when connecting to wifi and pair Bluetooth devices list on the phone.

hi @Kwok-a-mole
RCS was not working because the phone number port was not completed
I have sent you the porting support team number. Work with them to get the port completed first. Please check your Community inbox (https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/privatenotespage), check for the number and call.
And in case the poring team cannot help and ask you to submit ticket (or you rather submit ticket anyway), you can submit ticket by direct message:

Remember CS_agent will reply to your Community inbox within 2 to 4 hours, please check your inbox here:

Hi. I ported it over about nine hours ago and it started to work for about ten minutes and then it shut off again. I've tried a lot of the ideas from different posts but nothing has worked.
When you say reset network settings do you mean turning off and on the SIM?
Could it have been an issue with the port itself? Should I wait another day? Should I get my son to contact an agent directly? What do you think?

if he cannot even receive calls, then it is not an RCS issue, it is porting. Put the RCS aside and get the porting done first
there is a porting assistance team you can call and ask for update. I can't post the number here, but I will message the number to your community inbox. Please check and call them
But if you cannot reach them or they said they cannot help, you will need to contact PM using this link

And CS_Agent will reply to your community inbox, check here:

Hi. He cannot receive calls but he can make calls.
I've tried uninstalling Google messages, reinstalling and rebooting. I've tried disabling the eSim, clearing cache/data, reboot, enable eSim, reboot. I've tried just clearing the cache/data and rebooting. I've tried a bunch of the things different forums have suggested with little luck.
Earlier today he could send and receive texts but then it just stopped working. In RCS, the status just says "connecting"

SMS and RCS is the last function to work after porting is completed. This may take about 2 hours to complete.
Meanwhile, try resetting the Network setting and reboot your phone and see if that helps.

Hi. My son recently joined Public, also has a Samsung (S23 FE) and is also experiencing issues with RCS not connecting.
We're you able to resolve your issue? I've also tried uninstalling, rebooting, clearing cache/data, etc with nothing working.

first, make sure your son phone can receive incoming calls
then what you need to do is to uninstall Google Message (it might shows uninstall update or disable, do it), then reboot and reinstall (or reinstall update)
