Imessage not working

Experiencing the same issue here. Did the reboot, the network settings reset, the off and on with the iMessage, the airplane mode.

can you explain how to remove phone number from iMessage (it’s not on right now and nothing happens when I click on it)

yes just did again to double check, same issue.... I message is connected with email (iCloud) but can't check the phone number, it says verifying but nothing happens

did you try what i suggested?

go to Settings->Phone-> My Number, remove the phone number.  Reboot phone

then go back to Settings->Phone-> My Number and enter the phone number back to re-register iMessage

Followed all steps. When I get to 4) 

• Settings ▸ Messages ▸ Send & Receive → tap your Apple ID ▸ Sign Out, then Sign In again. Ensure your phone numberbecomes checked under “You can be reached by iMessage at”.

When I switch the toggle on with iMessage I get ''iMessage Activation. An error occured during activation. Try Again.''' 

Step 5 and 6 are done.

Starting to become a little discourage with this...
