does Samsung Galaxy S10+ works ? model sm-g975w

@nijoynn

From your AI research, the last line said it all:   VoLTE guaranteed: NOT always (carrier-dependent)

In this case, PM maintains it own VoLTE whitelist.  Generally, it prefers phones designed and sold in North American as well as more recent models.  Phones targeted for overseas markets (Europe and Asiaz etc) or older phones that are 4+ years old generally are not compatible.

Again, as said above, with Samsung, you need a S22 or newer model  to be compatible with PM network

why ? it has LTE option

oes Samsung Galaxy S10+ works ? model sm-g975w compatible with PM's VoLTE

Short answer: Yes, but it depends on your carrier.

1. Your phone (SM-G975W)
  • The Samsung Galaxy S10+ is the Canadian model.
  • It fully supports Canadian LTE bands, so it works fine on networks like Public Mobile, Telus, Bell, etc.
2. VoLTE support (important part)
  • The phone hardware supports VoLTE.
  • BUT VoLTE is carrier-controlled, not just phone-controlled.

👉 That means:

  • If your carrier whitelists this exact model, VoLTE will work.
  • If not, VoLTE may be disabled even if the phone supports it.
3. For PM’s VoLTE (Public Mobile)
  • Public Mobile (runs on Telus network) does support VoLTE.
  • Since your model is a Canadian “W” variant, it is more likely to be supported than imported models.

In most cases:

  • LTE works 100%
  • VoLTE usually works, especially with updated firmware and correct SIM

⚠️ But:

  • Some users still report VoLTE not activating unless:
    • Latest software is installed
    • Carrier enables it on your account
    • Correct network settings / SIM provisioning

4. How to check on your phone

Go to:
Settings → Connections → Mobile networks

Look for:

  • “VoLTE calls” toggle
    OR
  • “LTE calls”

If it’s missing → likely carrier restriction.

✔️ Final verdict
  • ✔ Compatible with PM network: YES
  • ✔ VoLTE capable: YES
  • ⚠️ VoLTE guaranteed: NOT always (carrier-dependent)

Sorry @nijoynn , while Galaxy S10+ has VoLTE, it is not compatible with PM's VoLTE network.  You need a newer phone or you will lost your voice services.  If you are staying with Samsung,  you will need at least a S22 or newer model to be compatible with PM network

As the S10 is now 7 years old and no longer has OS or security updates from Samsung, getting a newer device is highly recommended to avoid potential security vulnerabilities.
