Why does the help video say you can choose 30 day or 90 day plan after you select a new plan, but there is no option to switch from 30 to 90 days at this point, just confirm the payment.

OH? I didn't realize that they would reduce my options like that. Ok, understood. Thank you VERY much for that info.

if you choose the $50 plan, when you want to lower you plan, you won't see the $19 plan for sure. Your lowest price is likely to be $35 or $39. You might need to change to one of those for one month before you will see a $25 or $29 plan. Again, that will be the lowest you will see after you changed to the $40+ plan, you won't see the $19 plan anymore
To keep you current plan on the $15, and if you need that much data and willing to pay extra, I suggest you to setup another account and use that for the massive data.
When you are done the trip, remove autopay and suspend the account at the end of that cycle. Remember you can use the $10 friend referral code for that account, so , you actually are not paying that much extra..
The reason to that extra account is that you got to keep your current $15 account, which you have a choice to change to the better $15 plan or the $19 plan.

I still see the $15 plan option available, but it is actually better than the one I currently have because my current one is a very old plan. Wouldn't matter if I had to pay $19/mo either. I would just choose the lowest plan when I am back home, as I rarely use the cell for talk, mostly just texting. I use my internet for everything including my house phone (VOIP).

Just be careful if you choose a plan with a higher bucket. Once your back, you MIGHT not be able to downgrade to the plan that you WANT, especially, not the $15, that will not be there for sure. You will be able to downgrade, but to something with a higher value than you intended.
I hope you have a great summer, trip 🏕

I was looking to try to come as close as I could to replacing 400 GB of data usage over the span of 2 mos. I think the highest plan is 100 GB. So, I figured if I got the 90 day plan, that is 300 GB. I won't need to have any left for my cell in the month after I come back home, as I rarely use any data on it because I never go anywhere.

It isn't more minutes I wanted, it is data, to use my cell to replace internet access for 2 mos. Well, I would use more minutes, too, yes, but the highest or 2nd highest plans all have unlimited talk and text anyway. Yes, I am only traveling within Canada. I don't have a passport and have no need to go down south. My purpose is to see MY COUNTRY. It is a once in a lifetime trip, on a budget. I am 60 yrs old so I figure if I don't do it now, I may not be able to in future, who knows.

I use about 200GB per month here at home using my internet, not my cell. But I will be camping for July and August, so best option to get close to that amount of data, would be to tether my cell to my laptop or ipad instead of internet. I hardly ever use data on my cell, as I have a VOIP phone here at home, that is dirt cheap. This is why I only have a $15/mo cell plan, because I hardly even use it for calls unless I drive far from home and need to contact the person I am heading towards, or lost. So, I would have signed up for the highest plan for 3 mos, and had access to all that data in 2 mos. I don't need it once I get back home.

Sorry , no such option.
You can certainly change to another plan for more data but you likely won't have the option to go back to the $15
How much data you need? There is a new $15 plan now for 500Mb. Or you can buy some travel esim if you want

long as you have Autopay (Subscribed) enabled in your account and a valid debit / credit card...your account will renew without problem.
If you think you're going to need some extra talk time when you're gone, consider buying the 500 Minutes of Canada wide calling add-on for $5. Any unused minutes just roll over until you need them...even if that takes several months or years to use them. There's a data add-on but is costly ($15 / 1GB) and only has a 30 day lifespan. Most cafes, motels, campsites and McD's have free wifi nowaday. Download and use the free WhatsApp and have fam friends use it also. You can talk / text to other WhatsApp'ers for free using wifi or separatley purchased data.
added...the above is true assuming your trip is in country. If you're fixing to go out of Canada to the place south of us, you can get a 15 Day US Talk / Text / Data add-on also. Alternative is to upgrade to a Canada / us / Mx plan but your $15 plan would be impossible to get back as the cheapest currently available is $19.

I have had the $15 plan on 2 phones for many years. Not a new subscriber. I was just wanting to change to 90 days for one cycle, then I would return to monthly again. Because I am going on a trip for July & August, I just wanted 3 mos of higher data from a higher plan for those 2 mos.

I am going on a trip across Canada and only wanted to change my plan from 30 - 90 days for one cycle so I could get extra data for a trip I am going on from July and August.

the video said that because there was 90 days option back then. But the 90 days plans have gone for many months, not sure if it will come back. Just keep an eye, but for now, settle for the 30 days option
