Public mobile shutting down?

Kalipalfrey

I just received a call from Koodo saying that PM will be shutting down gradually and that they'll offer me this amazing plan and benefits if I switch over right now on the call. I asked if I could think about it and was told that the great benefits won't be applied to my plan and that I won't find anything like it on their site. Please help

@Kalipalfrey : I hope you didn't give them too much, if any, personal information. Do you even possibly have a Manitoba number or used a Manitoba address in your profile or payment card?

Keep in mind that Koodo is not the only second-tier company out there so you'll have lots of choices to compare.

Do not be pressured into a decision by Koodo at this time.

Anytime anyone tries to tell/sell me something similarly, I use the old theatre audition line:

"don't call us, we'll call you"

I'm in BC right now, and I haven't seen any announcements about it so that's why I was confused about why they were calling me and trying to coerce me into switching my plan over the phone.

@Kalipalfrey : The only piece we know of so far is that voice will be lessened but not eliminated in areas of Manitoba which would affect a subset of phones. The rest of that sales spiel is conjecture and threats. Make your choices wisely.

But then we thought the same with the pending arrival of the provincial plans too. So there's that. 🙂
