I was contacted saying that there is a problem with the number transfer because the pin I had entered is saying that it is incorrect.

Carriers prefer either account number or IMEI. I would suggest those instead of account PIN. If a PIN is provided in combination with IMEI or account number, that increases the chance of porting failure. The account PIN could also be confused with account login, voicemail password, or the SIM card's PIN.
