Hello,
The title pretty much sums it up. I'm trying to port the number I have with public mobile into another provider but I would like to keep my line and sim with public mobile active and have a new random number associated with the account after the port. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can achieve this?

The only way you might be able to do this is if you're moving to a Telus or Koodo service.
You would have to first change your number with public mobile and if the existing number was originally a Telus number, they may be able to pull it back into a service with Telus or Koodo.
Whatever you do, do not port the number until this has been pre-arranged.

I would say officially not. But I have heard of some pretty wild stretches of customer service around here.
The mere act of porting is the kicker. Porting closes the account.
