On Sept 2 (1 monthinto my plan) I ran over the 9Gig data I paid for on my 3 month contract, due to Facetime usage while travelling. I immediately added money to the plan, but although I can text a week later, I do not yet have data access. How do I get my plan reinstated? It is nearly useless without data while I am travelling.

Simply adding money to the account does nothing. The money will just sit there. If the intention is to buy data add-on, that is the 2 step process where money is added to account and then add-on is purchased using the funds in the account. The simplest way forward may be to message the moderator team to do an early renewal of the same plan.

does face time really use that much data? is there a setting to reduce image quality?

@GaryB48 You cannot change the plan if you are on a promo plan that is no longer available. To renew your plan early, as long as the plan is available today, you can add sufficient funds and change your plan from your self-serve account. If the plan you have is not available, you will need to send a private message to the Moderator_Team with your ph# and account#.
Note: You will not get any refund/credits for renewing early.

I believe you need to go into your self-serve account to the add-on section and choose how much additional data you want to add. I don't think adding money to your account itself activates additional data as it's not pay per use. Hope that helps.
