Plan change

I wanted to upgrade to the $35 plan but it only gave me the option to do it on renewal or a one time payment. I wanted to do it now cause out of data so did the one time payment and now plan is not upgraded and can't do it now or I will lose the $35

The ability for a customer to change plans in Self Serve isn't related to both the old and new plans being different prices.  The new plans simply needs to be different than the old plan. While not all customers will run into this type of situation, there are plans that can be switched to that are the same price as some past offered plans.

You'll need to decide if getting more data or if saving money is more important.  Any change of plan will cost you more.  Note that it's not the $35 that you'll be losing (although you would have to pay $35 now to change to the $35 plan), but rather portions of the price of the old plan that you're abondoning that you'd be losing.

If you believe that you only need a very small amount of extra data and that you might not even use it all up, you may wish to consider purcahsing a data add-on instead.

If you are changing plans to a higher or lower priced plan, you can choose to change plan now or on the next renewal date.

First sign into self-serve, and tap on this button:

Then, after you select the desired plan, if you want to do it immediately click the button to the left as pictured below, or to the right (highlighted one)  if you wish to wait until the next renewal cycle:
