In most cases you can, but to properly answer this question, the rate centre/city that this phone number is coming from needs to be known. While most pone numbers can be transfered to Public Mobile, such a phone number cannot be transferered to Public Mobile unless they also offer phone numberf or that same location themselves.  There are even some rare relatively populated areas with phone number that cannot be transfered to Public Mobile.

@Phill-40  Yes you can. Just remember to keep using your old sim until it stops working and then start using your activated Public Mobile sim to avoid them problem with the port not being authorized.

You have two options

1. Activate your sim with a temporary number, try it out, test they connection in your area, figure out your phone with new sim card. If satisfied, contact moderators to transfer your number, they e ask you for all the info necessary. I suggest just copy and paste from your previous account 

2. Do it during the signup, the secund page of activation will be the bigger choice, so you can just fill it yourself.

Note, keep your old sim you may need to answer sms from previous provider confirming the port

@Phill-40 Yes you should be able to. When you activate your new sim/account you will be given the option of porting a number in. Be sure your old account is active and you leave the old sim in the phone so you can reply to the port request SMS from your old provider. If you need help you can get live chat support during activation.
