Phone not working

I have a LG GD510 originally from Rogers. I have just inserted a new PM Sim card and it did not ask me for a unlock code, so I assume it is unlocked.  I have set up an account, paid for a plan but my phone says I can make emergency calls only, it seems it does not recognize the new SIM. What could be the problem?

@embacherThat's a 2G phone it will never work with PM. Rogers is your only choice for a 2G phone for now.

I think that phone might be too old a model to work. Originally released in 2009, runs on 2g while PM uses 3g/LTE.

Also any phone sold by a Canadian carrier prior to 2017 would be locked to that carrier.

Id check to see if its compatible with PM...I believe thats a quite old model and I think it isnt compatible
