Personal greeting

The voice mail greeting I get when I call my number from another phone is a system generated greeting.

When I call my voice mail and go into personal greetings, it indicates that my personal greeting is active and when I listen to it, it is in fact my personal greeting. But that's not the greeting that plays when I call my number from another phone.

In personal greetings, I tried switching to a system generated greeting and then switching back to a personal greeting, but that didn't work.

Suggestions?

Thank you.

I tried that with iPhone Live Voicemail turned on and it didn't work. The system-generated greeting operates.

@JDuffy1

If you have already recorded a personal greetings, you need to enable it

Call voicemail from your phone, then press

3 (greetings) > 1 (personal greetings) > 1 (activate your personal greeting.)

Thanks for this, but it didn't indicate whether the PM voicemail would use my personal greeting or a system-generated greeting. Can you pls clarify that? Thank you.

@JDuffy1

you can have both iPhone Live Voicemail and PM voicemail at the same time, but only one will actually handle the call at any given moment.  iPhone LV will work if iPhone is in and reachable.  PM voicemail will kick in if your iPhone is not reachable.

But people find it troublesome to manage both and we usually suggest to turn off iPhone LIve voice mail

BTW, PM has a new way to contact agent.  Please open ticket using Public Mobile Expert Messaging , Select Start a Chat to begin (You will need to use your current Community account to login to submit the ticket):
          https://expert-messaging.publicmobile.ca/guest/pre-chat
**You'll get email/sms alert when agent replies. or monitor here: https://expert-messaging.publicmobile.ca/message-centre

Thanks for this suggestion.

Before I contact a PM CS agent, can you tell me if it will be possible for me to have both Live Voicemail operating on my iPhone and a personal greeting on Public Mobile (as opposed to a system-generated greeting)? Because at this point it seems to me like I can't have both; I have to choose one or the other. Thanks.

Thanks. Another user sent me a private message with the suggestion that I turn off Live Voicemail if I use an iPhone, which I do. That worked.

Thanks anyways.

Thanks. When I first went into personal greetings, I heard that my personal greeting was already activated. In the process of switching to the system generated greeting and then switching back to the personal greeting, I re-activated the personal greeting. That hasn't worked. I'm still hearing the system generated greeting when a call goes to voice mail.
