I ported my number from Telus but I'm still not activated on the Public network. Infact, I have no service at all! I did the switch several hours ago.

Is your phone notification bar showing "Public mobile" or emergency only?
If connected to PM, is you data working? Can you call out or text out?
If emergency only, test your SIM card with another phone to eliminate hardware issue.

@totalUser there might be a stuck port, but you are jumping the gun with that sole conclusion. With stuck ports outgoing calls and sms work, and so does data... no service implies other factors: failed activation, need a network search etc... more informtion is needed from the poster to identify the issue before contacting mods.

no service that is strange. stuck ports will still have service (outgoing and data)
does the sim connect to the PM Network? have you tried doing a manual network search?
can you log into your selfserve account what does the status say?
did you get a welcome email from public (home actiation)
did your sim get activated properly?
your old telus sim should still work does it?
