I tried to switch from koodo to PM but now neither of my sim cards work I activated the PM card, paid, and changed my data settings and nothing works I cant send or receive texts or use my data.

I think koodo isn't releasing my phone number to PM but I dont know what to do anymore

@Traderboy23  - was the Koodo account still active when you activated the Public Mobile SIM card?

I am not sure what the results would be if this was the scenario. I did see you seem to have good reception, lots of bars on your phone...🤔

@Traderboy23 : CSA agent Alex_G just told me your question is with another agent. Have you clicked on the little envelope next to your bike avatar and clicked on any bold subject line from CS_Agent and maybe clicked Expand on the right side?

I did open a ticket

With Google:

Turn on automatic backups

You can set up your phone to automatically back up your files.

  1. Open your phone’s Settings app.
  2. Select Google

     Backup.
Optional: If this is your first time, turn on Backup by Google One and follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. Tap Back up now.

Your Google One backup can take up to 24 hours. When your data is saved, “On” will be below the data types you selected.

Hey @Alex_G : Would you mind reaching out to @Traderboy23 and check out his account. Seeing as how you did an edit on a recent post elsewhere.

@Traderboy23   If you opened a ticket with CS Agent and have not hear anything back yet, I would wait for their reply before trying with a Factory reset.

@Traderboy23   the most important thing is your pictures and video. Connect to a computer and move them all out first

Then use Google or Samsung (is yours a Samsung?)  to backup the rest of the data.   There might be a settings under Settings->Accounts and backup or something like that.

@Traderboy23  if at least remove the VPN first, then reboot the phone.

I seen people who had VPN setup with the school network and blocked the data.  Not sure if this is in your case as you don't have voice too.  But I would try that

This is not true.  some phones did require a Factory reset to get this working.  We seen a lot with LG phones

Ive been at this for like 4 hours

Nothing is working and my koodo worked fine with my VPN

@Traderboy23   So, you know you have setup a VPN for the connection?

If possible, after you try with @HALIMACS  list above and still no luck, I would try Factory Reset

Backup your phone first, then do a factory reset with PM SIM in the phone.

After the factory reset, setup the phone with the PM network but DO NOT restore data back yet.  Just plain setup the phone with the PM network and see if it works (don't even waste time setup any app).

When it start working, then you can restore the data back

@Traderboy23 : Yes, data comes after we get some service going. You have 4 bars of something while it doesn't say Emergency calls or indicate it up top. So how'd it go with the lost/stolen?

Traderboy23
Great Citizen / Super Citoyen

Yes ive tried everything 3 times

@Traderboy23

I haven't read EVERY entry above, but I'm presuming you've tried:

  1. rebooting your device
  2. resetting your network connections
  3. toggling airplane mode on/off
  4. removing the Public Mobile SIM, and reinserting it

You have a "Key" icon on the top.. you have some kind of VPN service setup.   Maybe that is causing the issue?  I remember someone setup the VPN from the school network and blocked the data from working

but your voice calls are not even working?  Neither incoming nor outgoing?

@Traderboy23 : Running out of ideas...can you log in to your self-serve account and click Plan & Add-ons up top and then Lost/stolen just below and then Suspend. Log out. Wait a minute. Log back in and back and then click Resume. Restart phone. See what happens.

@Traderboy23 : Ok good. Now go back to Network operators and tap Select automatically and it should start scanning for networks. This might take a moment or three. Hopefully it will find Public Mobile and you tap on it and it will be connected to PM. Hopefully.
