Hi,
I’m a new Public Mobile subscriber on an eSIM and I’m having a persistent issue with inbound SMS.
What works:
Calls (inbound + outbound)
Data
Outbound SMS
RCS connects successfully
WhatsApp and other data-based messaging apps
What does NOT work:
Inbound SMS from anyone
iPhone (with iMessage turned OFF, green bubble SMS)
Android (RCS OFF, plain SMS)
Details:
Issue started immediately after eSIM activation
SMSC is present on the device
Default SIM is set correctly
Network settings reset, reboots done
Removing/re-adding eSIM did not help
Missed texts sent during this time do not arrive later
Based on testing, this looks like a carrier-side inbound SMS routing / provisioning issue (HLR/SMSC), not a device or app problem.
Questions for the community:
Has anyone else had inbound-only SMS failures after a new eSIM activation?
If so, did support need to do an HLR refresh or SMS reprovisioning to fix it?
Any known current issues related to eSIM or number provisioning?
Posting to see if this is affecting others or if anyone has a confirmed resolution path.

I do not use iMessage.
iMessage was turned off on the other person’s iPhone to test normal SMS.
Incoming calls to my Public Mobile number do work.
I already rebooted my phone and reset network settings.
Outgoing SMS works. Incoming SMS does not.

why your iMessage is turned off?
please Reboot phone and Reset network settings, then test again
and please confirm if you really getting incoming calls. Many unaware that they don't and all the issues were caused because porting request was not done
