Phone connection - since recent update - people sometimes cannot hear me when I call, or call goes through, but then hangs up within a short time. When folks can call me and it seems okay. Please help! It's very difficult to get in touch with doctors or businesses.

yes, likely is the phone update
also check around and see if you see a VoLTE toggle (maybe Settings -> Network & Internet -> Mobile network). If you see it , enable it. No worries if you cannot find it, it is usually hidden

Thank you. I have an Umidigi. I have rebooted and figured it's a glitch since the update. I will check out what you said the best I can.

what phone do you have?
you can Reboot phone and Reset network settings first.
and use the IMEI checker here to confirm if your phone can use VoLTE on PM network
