I tried opening a new public mobile account yesterday and kept getting various error messages (cannot use an email address, SIM not valid). Finally managed to go through all the pages and tried to pay - then got another error in the end. However, I did get an email saying I activated my account. But when I tried to login with the email address that I used to sign up, it won't let me log in. Tried signing up a new account with the phone number that I received - won't let me sign up (probably cuz there's another account?). Tried clicking lost password - it said email not valid.
I private messaged a mod last night when I was having problem. So I tried replying to her today - my first reply, and it said I've reached limit of private messages! I've spend the whole day dealing with this and still have to port my number over. I can't believe the number of problems there are. This was my first experience with public mobile and it was a recommendation from a friend. I think I have to rethink my decision...

I had exactly the same thing happen to me.

I am also having the same issue with multiple issues setting up. I am receiviving the too many messages line as well after sending 5 messages in 2 days. I think this is rediculous. I am set up but cannot set up account to create a plan and pay and now no help available?

Thank you for your reply Adadirect.
The information I receive from our technical department is that you tried to PM a user that has Private Messages disabled, and then tried another immediately which likely caused the behavior.
Please note as well that for future reference, in order to get assistance please simply send a message to @CS_Agent now and it will be redirected to the mods' general queue.
I hope this makes sense, and please send us a message if it ever happens again in the future.
Again, I am deeply sorry for the inconvenience.
Cheers,
Simon

@Simon_O Thank you for trying to solve the problem, but then it doesn't really make sense because I was only trying to PM one mod initially and it was my very first reply to her. I only PM'd you after encountering the error. It was my very first attempt to try to reply to that mod so I was not trying to send a PM every 5 min. I had just opened the community account too so I did not PM anybody else before that.
Anyways, thank you for your help in helping me activate my account. I am now waiting for my landline to get ported. I hope no new users will encounter the same issue as I did.

Hey adadirect,
I was able to find the root of the issue which is that for some reason you were trying to reach 2 mods at the same time and sent multiple private messages in a short amount of time, which caused an automatic spam prevention measure to block them and show an error message.
There is a thing called flood controls, which limits the number of Private Messages a user can send in a given period of time. By default, this should be around 1 PM per minute.
Therefore, for future reference, if it ever happens again in the future, please refrain from using PMs for a half hour or so and then try sending a single PM and then wait 5 minutes. Then try sending another PM to the same user and see if that PM goes through as well.
Cheers,
Simon

Wowza... this is not good! I wish I could provide more help than a hopeful "hang in there, it'll be worthwhile and smooth sailing after these initial problems are solved!"

I was just able to reply to couple of PMs and they went out just fine. May be new users are experiencing this issue?

Hey adadirect!
I am sorry to learn that.
Could you please try to log-out of your Community account, clear your browser's cache and cookies, and try again?
I just sent you a private message as well, please confirm if you are able to reply to it 🙂
Thank you,
Simon

@wetcoaster Thanks for the tip - just tried incognito mode but didn't work either. I tried IE as well earlier and also didn't work 😞

Totally understand your frustration.
Have you tried clearing your browser's cache and/or using incognito mode and/or chrome browser?
Hope things are getting sorted soon!

@NDesai But clearly I am not the first since the previous post mentioned it as well from @slavitch
It maybe a new problem but I'm definitely not the only one. Plus it was multiple errors that I have encountered. I have tried to be patient and kept repeatedly trying different ways to resolve this on my own before resorting to the moderator, but even that did not work. I do appreciate you trying to help but clearly there are many issues here.

I understand your frustration but you are actually the first one to complaint about the private message limit. The reason you are not seeing anyone's username on the Send to is because the Mods profile have pm disabled and they are supposed to use @CS_Agent to send and receive private messages. I am not sure why you are unable to reply due to limit. May be they can figure out why you are having problems replying. @Simon_O

Oh the latest error when I tried to send a private message (I just clicked reply to the moderator and there's nobody else in the send to list besides the moderator)...
Correct the highlighted errors and try again.
Can your forum get any worse than this?
