@NYJohn, there haven't been stores for over the year I have been here. If your son was using your plan was it maintained while you were gone? If your plan has been expired for over 90 days your account has been closed, the number is no longer reserved for you and if you were on a promo plan that no longer exists you will not have access to that.

If the account is still active no need for a new SIM; use the current one.

Good luck @NYJohn hopefully you are able to resolve this issue fairly quickly.
Prepaid phones for Telus/Koodo are fairly cheap and accessible. They will work just fine.
Easiest place is probably Walmart to buy the sim card and phone so you can get it working as soon as possible.

Are you asking about your phone number or the contacts stored?

Was your service active during these 9 months? Because if you had no service for more than 90 days your phone number is lost and your SIM is useless.

thank you. I have been in Africa for 9 months and my kid was using it, and I'm back and there is no store. LOL Cheers

Just pop your old SIM in your new phone and everything should be good (your new phone needs to be unlocked, or locked to Telus/Koodo/Public Mobile).
If it doesn't fit and you can't "adapt" it's size by removing the plastic cutout (if your SIM is old), you can buy a new one (order via PM's website or in Walmart/Wow mobile) and then replace the old SIM number by the new one in your selfserve account. Or you can also try to cut it out yourself, look for how-to on the internet/YouTube...

interesting way to ask for a phone, or help for that matter.

I have seen some pretty interesting posts in this forum over the past roughly one year's time. This one has to rank right near the top. Talk about entitlement! Need a phone, go buy one. This service is geared for the BYOD crowd.

I hear the OnePlus5 is pretty good. You get good value for the money. 6GB RAM + 64GB Storage for CA$649.00 or 8GB RAM + 128GB Storage for CA$719.

Things happens, get a phone near by. There are plenty stores for it. Public mobile doesnt sell any phone.

@NYJohn Public Mobile does not provide phones.
As suggested you can go to any Telus/Koodo dealer (even wal-mart / best buy may sell cheaper pay as you go type phones). As long as they work on Telus/Koodo they will work on Public Mobile.
I checked bestbuy has some Telus/Koodo prepaid phones for $50-$120
You can also check local classified ads (kijiji etc), or ebay (will take longer to recieve). As always buyer beware on those sites, be carefull. I think the best option is brand new (esp since you are not loking for the latest greatest phone.

Also, any phone from Koodo or Telus will work on Public Mobile. https://www.koodomobile.com/prepaid-phones?INTCMP=KMNew_NavMenu_Shop_PrepaidPhones
If you can come to Mississauga and would consider an LG flip from Telus send me a private message.

@NYJohn, what are you asking for? You need a new phone or your service isn't working? If you need a phone fast I would go to Staples, or Best Buy, London Drugs or WalMart or something like that to buy a phone.
