Does settings, general, about look like. If it does NOT say No SIM restrictions then the phone is locked.

Thank you for the explanation.

Appreciate it.

Did you reboot phone?

@edjivi The message you're receiving is basically telling you that your phone is locked to your old carrier. Where did you get your iPhone from? Bell/Rodgers/Fido/ChatR?

Whoever you originally had the iPhone with you will need to contact them and ask them to unlock the phone for you. It's free. Since it's an iPhone they don't give you an unlock code to type in. They send an unlock request to your phone. Once sent you reboot phone and it should be good to go with Public Mobile sim card. If not sometimes you have to plug your phone with wire to a computer and open iTunes to finalize the unlock and also do any updates that pop up like carrier updates ,etc.

Thanks for the response.

It says: SIM is not supported because your iPhone is locked to your carrier. I checked the carrier and it says public mobile 36.0.1. I use public mobile so I was assuming it should work with the phone but it will not activate and continues with the error. I purchased it second hand for my son.

It could be that your phone is locked?

Who was your previous provider?

Did you try any other SIM in your phone?

@edjivi  Are you a new customer or have been with PM for while?

If new. Are you sure your phone is not locked? You'd have to contact the carrier you got the phone from and ask that they send you the unlock code to your phone to have the phone unlocked.

Or did you buy phone second hand? Maybe the seller reported it lost or stolen and the phone is blacklisted now. Go to link below to check the status.

What is the exact message it says on the phone?
