Just signed up and tried logging in on my phone app.
Keep getting
Error Something went wrong. Please try again.
Try again. Same result.
I can login using my desktop computer, but my phone app won't let me log in.

Since you can access My Account on desktop, it does not look like problem with the account itself. Uninstall and reinstall the app and see if it helps
