Koodo migration offer - can we downgrade PM plan during transition?

One of our PM lines has this offer, but we are in the process of filling out the required information to set up the new account at Koodo.

We need to wait for Koodo SIM card to arrive through the mail in order to complete the whole process. However, our next top up date is in 2 days at PM and I heard it takes about a week or so before the SIM card can arrive.

Is it ok if we downgrade our current PM to something cheaper for the next top up while we wait for the Koodo SIM card to arrive?

Would it affect the Koodo migration offer right?

This kind of internal question can only be answered by offical employee.

So you have made up your mind to move yet or still thinking?

@wing0,

Do you know what plan Koodo offered you?

Back during the $40/6GB promo (March? April?) a family member was going to be out of the province before her Koodo SIM showed up and after her next PM renewal date. I didn't want to pay $120 for about four days service so I asked Koodo if I could downgrade her PM plan and was told it'd be fine. Specifically:

"The order will be processed as it was submitted. If your promo code and number were accepted when you submitted your order, changing your rates with PM will not affect your eligibility for the promo. You just need to make sure your number stays active for it to be ported."

I don't see why this current promo would be any different but you could ask them. Facebook is how I conversed with them. 🙂

So there is a problem with the system right now if you choose to change plan on next renewal?

@wing0

Yes, you can downgrade to a cheaper plan on your next renewal date.

But currently peopel have been getting plan change on after the renewal date.

It is your call whether to downgrade or not. If problem persists, your account may be suspended on your renewal date.

On the other hand, you can change plan now and wasted a few days of service. I have not seen any plan change failure immediately reported.

@wing0 I am pretty sure you can downgrade your plan. The promo is valid on your phone number and since you already signed up, the promo plan is already attached on your koodo sim that you will get in a few days.
