Had a bad experience with a carrier that lied to me on black friday deals to keep me from leaving to another carrier. I also got tired of paying loads for peanuts. So... whats up? Any cool stuff a new member of public mobile should read to familiarize himself/herself?

Welcome Bilal and congrats on making a wise move to PM! I was with Rogers for a long time and decided I had enough. The call quality was terrible compared to PM. In my condo I couldn't even make a phone call. Now I have great reception! The only good thing about my Rogers plan was the overage for data was really cheap... $10 a gig. Problem is one time I went over so I expected to be charged $10. I only went over by like 500 MB. Sure enough I get charged $35. I called and asked why, they said we changed overage charges. So even if that's what your plan had, we reserve the right to make changes as we see fit. And they never even informed me about the changes. Ok, see ya! So yeah I must say it was a bit of an adjustment not having someone to call to activate my service but I don't care really as I hardly ever spoke with a phone rep. Now I really like how I can just manage everything online and the community is quite helpful. If you BYOP this carrier is probably your best choice right now in terms of pricing and network quality. Freedom has good prices too but terrible network.

The only reward that you can lose is the referal reward. you only lose it when the person you reffered leaves PM.

@bilal684, welcome to PM and enjoy the savings. The rewards are credited at each renewal of your plan. So it doesn't matter what plan you are on now (Legacy Plans do not qualify). You can earn upto enough rewards to have your entire bill paid for (If you refer more people then what your bill is they will not pay you). Read through the Knowledge Base other then that if a question pops up just asks there are a lot of knowledgeable people that like to help around here.

Nice, I was very happy a friend of mine had an extra sim card from back when they were free. Directly switched to public mobile.

Nice, I was thinking about those rewards. Do these rewards expire and are they applied to any plan? Or do I have to stick with one plan to avoid losing them?

Welcome to PM. and welcome to the forums. Enjoy the savings. If you are all activated nd all is good then the KB is probbaly the only thing I can really think of. other than that perouse the various forums and read anythng that seems of interest.
Also read up on teh rewards and how they work they are an additional source of savings 🙂
