Invalid SIM message

Hi all, I have been trying to activate my SIM card since last night and it doest work. At first i got a generic error a couple times, then my credit card got charged and now it says invalid SIM. no service on phone says SIM not supported. please help! Im paying for something i didnt even get.

I am contacting CBC today about these unethical practices from Public Mobile. I have not yet received a response from the moderators (I used the correct account name) and they fully charged me for a month's service but my sim is still invalid. I have sent them a nicely worded message and hope they read it because im going to the media. only then will they act on this. I have called my bank and they agree with me and have already reversed the charges from public mobile and are also investigating the matter further. i cant imagine how many people have been ripped off like this.

@bravo_md, please stop referencing the MODERATOR_TEAM as mod_team.  There is no user named mod_team (and if there is, it's not the right account).

 

The correct (and only) user account for the Moderators is Moderator_Team, and anything else is confusing for new subscribers.

 

This is not the first time I've seen you asked to stop, please stop this.

missorange    I.m sure you would have been OK doing it your self. But doing it at Walmart gave you piece of mind.  I understand that completely. Glad you're part of the community.

understood, I did not have those problems it is because I went to walmart to do the activaton as I heard from someone said it may have some problems if i did myself.

OK then, you,ve done all you can do.  Didn't know you could not create an account yet. Just saw the last post you made. That's really something you can,t fix on your own.

i have tried multiple times, clearing my cache, using firefox and chrome, using incognito mode on both but nothing. Still says invalid SIM. and the charge still shows on my credit card statement.

I cant create a self-serve account if i dont even have a number to begin with. It asks for two things: 

 

1. email address

2. Public mobile number - which i do not have.

If it's been an hour or two since you tried to activate the sim, then try one more time .  Clear your cache,and use chrome in the incognito mode.  Know what I mean.  Give it one more try and continue waiting.

at the mean time of waiting for a response from MOD team, you may try to create a account, and after you log into the self account, you will see the status of your activation process.

yes, i have just messaged them one time and im waiting for them to get back. and yes, it would be worth the price and savings IF i can get it to start working. but the fact that i have so many problems just signing up, i dont even want to know how bad it can get once its active.

I hear what your saying, but the savings and service will be really worth it.  I had to wait awhile last week too.  Just don't send them too many duplicate messages, cause it adds more things to the que.

I have private messaged the mod team as well tagged them in my previous reply. I have not heard back anything yet. I just feel like ive been completely ripped off here with no recourse whatsoever.

How long do I have to wait? I completed the process last night and I still cant log in with the credentials i used at sign up. Im still charged for the monthly plan but have no service. When i insert the sim in the phone, it says it needs to be activated. When I try to activate the SIM, it says invalid SIM.

From what you said sounds every thing went thru, so you just have to wait for every thing else to finallize.   The sim card just needs time to finish doing it's thing.   Good luck and hang in there. I've seen this same thing, time and time again.

@demog111  You may also want to contact Rogers to double check your phone is actually unlocked as you don't sound 100% sure it is.  Cheers

Thanks for the reply. I tried logging in and it says account not found. I was still charged. It keeps saying invalid sim everytime I try to sign up. I have checked and the phone should be unlocked. It is an iPhone 6s and was on Rogers network. If it is still locked, would that make the sim invalid?

There are multiple reasons for you have this situation. Assuming you have done everything correct including the phone is setup and compatible with PM, connect with the moderator team. They are generally quick in responding.

@demog111 Try logging into your self serve account, if you were charged it may have created an account even if it said you had an error. If you can log in try reporting your phone as lost/stolen (click Plans and Addons tab then Lost/stolen phone), log out, wait 5 minutes, log in and report it found, then restart your phone.

Is your phone locked to another provider? What is the make and model of the phone?
