Incorrect port

I activated my new SIM and imported my number from chatr or so I thought. I received a phone call from Public Mobile and I was told my port was failing and would need to choose a new number which I did with them. It has been a couple weeks and my number hasn't changed yet. How long does it take?

@SOULIE , I have moved your conversation about number portability to the "Getting started" message category.

The change to the new number should have been instant.

In any event, what you'll want to do is keep using your Chatr service for now, and you obviously need to keep that active.

If you don't already have this information, you'll need to phone into Chatr customer care to ask them for the Chatr account number.  Once you have that, contact Public Mobile again, to request that the phone nubmer be transfered.

Will13am has provide instructions how to contact the moderators privately. Again, the link for that is https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437 .

Yes chatr was still active and yes phone call was from Public Mobile to my secondary number.

@SOULIE  Scroll up this page where the envelope icon is is there a red dot? If yes, you need to open it up and respond to the moderators by clicking on the subject line and providing the info they need to complete the port. If there are no private messages then login to your account and resubmit the port request.

Is your account with the previous provider still active? If not, then you will not be able to port your number. Porting your number from chatr should not take more than 5 hours max. Public Mobile does not call do you mean you received a text from Public Mobile? If yes, then you need to verify your account and provide them with the required info for them to complete the port.

@SOULIE, number porting should only take a couple of hours if the port submission was successful.  I think your original port is stuck.  I suggest contacting the moderator team and seeking their assistance to resubmit the port.  The moderator team can be reached via private message using this link.  Please include a detailed description of the issue and the required resolution. This will speed up problem resolution significantly. Refer to the following knowledge base link for additional information on contacting the moderator team.

See if I have this right.  You activated with a new Public Mobile number, then attempted to port in your Chatr number, which failed.  The moderator told you to choose a new number, as in a new Public Mobile number?  Was that so the porting in of the Chatr number could continue?   It sounds like you will need to contact the moderator that you dealt with several weeks ago, to see what's going on with your port - or send a private message to the moderator team with the details that have occurred so far.  Good luck.
