My phone was stolen, and I bought a new sim card. As soon as I inserted the new sim card in my phone, it was activated without doing anything on my part to activate it. Is this OK? Or, there could be a security problem?

hi @katmar_777
i don't see any security issue. Probably you have already updated it, maybe somehow double clicked the submit button and hence 2 requests went in within second
if you like, check with PM support by submitting ticket

Actually I started to update, and when I wrote the number of the new sim card, a message appeared telling that mumbers of both sim cards, the old one and the new one, are the same. So, I could not complete the process of updating the sim card number. But, I was surprised, when I found the phone is doing very well with the new sim card. But, still concerned a bit about the security issue.

Thanks for the information. But the problem, which in fact should not be a problem, is that the phone is doing well, nothing seems to be a problem. The problem is that how the activation took place without doing anything on my part. I was just afraid that a security issue my take place. That's all. Thanks

Strange that it activated if you did nothing. You need to assign the S/N of the SIM to your account.
Could we get more detail of what you did?

you need to login My Account and update the sim card number on the Profile page. Click the pencil to the right of sim card number and update
(for 2FA to login My Account, click Didn't receive code or Resend Code and choose Send email or send voice message to get the code )
if you cannot login My Account, message support agent and ask them to help to update.
