Hopefully, you got your phone working.  Once you change SIM card number, it should work immediately.  Rebooting phone normally would do the trick.

As mentioned, changing SIM card probably won't make a different with talk issues.  Here is some information about the recent talk issue with PM.  Let us know if more questions.

There have been issues with talk with the Public mobile network recently.  PM has sent warning texts to affected customers.  Public mobile has been changing the 3G network (switching 3G 850 MHz band to LTE). Here is some additional information:

If your phone is not VoLTE compatible with the PM network and the 850 MHz 3G band is not available in your area, your talk services will be affected. Here is some information about VoLTE compatible phones with PM:

Why would you think the problem is your SIM card? They are robust and rarely need changing unless you damaged the copper contacts on the card. You may have wasted your money.

Since you already changed your SIM, just reboot your phone by powering off the phone then power back on.

If that didn’t work then contact a CS_Agent to investigate the issue by typing in Submit a Ticket on Chatbot or dm them.

In the future if it happens again.

- Check to see if there are any outages.https://istheservicedowncanada.com/status/telus/map

- If you have an older phone, it could be related to the change in 3G so switch to 4G in the settings. What is the make and model of your phone?

- If all fails, contact a CS_Agent to investigate.
