Error message for outgoing calls

oranges_24

Hi,

I've been experiencing this issue for a while and recently decided to see what was going on in the community. I often get the message "6UT1, this number is not in service" error code for numbers that I know are active. I tried calling my bank at CIBC and it gave me this message. Luckily I had access to another phone where I could call and it worked. Anyone know what the issue is here? What can I do? It's been super inconvenient.

Thanks!

Ok. That also tells me they had you in their contacts or they are on a Rogers family account (adding - or subscribe to a number id service).
I had a problem a while ago calling some numbers and some toll frees and it turned out that having private number on would not get through to the other end. Not just a recording telling the other end won't answer...just, nothing or something like this error (I don't remember exactly which error it was) so I thought I'd run this idea by you.
So I don't have another idea for you at this time. (adding - maybe someone else will have a better idea.)

Maybe run it by support and see if they can escalate to someone that might have a clue. Or maybe even just their simple re-provisioning of the account might fix it.

It's not on! I can see my name.

Call somebody next to you and see if it shows something like private number calling them. If it shows them your number then you don't have it on. (most people don't)

How do I check for that? I don't think I do but I can double check.

Do you have the hide your number turned on?

@oranges_24 yes, many subscribers need to. start using 1 for regular numbers

for the 1-800 number, if it doesn't work, try with VoIP app like TextNow as a workaround

Hi @softech

I found on another forum that adding 1 before a number helps, which works. Now it still happens for a few numbers but I never know the rhyme or reason behind it. 1-800 numbers don't always work for me. I've reset my phone and it hasn't been resolved. I'll try giving reset all networks a try

@oranges_24

does it happen to all outgoing calls? can you receive incoming all the data work?

usually with such error ,  you can just reboot your device once and. it would be resolved

if not, try to change click Reset All Networks, amd try your phone at different area in case it is a local network issue
