My brother-in-law doesn't receive text messages from me right away. The last message took almost 4.5 hours to receive from me.
Both of us are subscribed to Public Mobile. His phone is a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra & mine a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. He thinks it is most likely the whole thing about his phone not being able to use the newer message protocol while on Public Mobile. His words.
Any ideas? What should he check? Is there anything PM can do?

@bluejaywpg1 as both of you are using Galaxy, you are likely sending RCS and not SMS, which means both of you have to turn Mobile Data on to send and receive. Make sure Mobile data is in
If that is not the issue, a quick way to fix is to clear app cache (Google Message) for both phones, restart and test again
If that does not fix it, both if you should try uninstall Google Message and reboot phone and reinstall. For some phones, instead of "Uninstall" , it might give you the option of "Uninstall Update" or "Disable", you can do this instead of uninstalling
