Data? Messages?

Im on my new Samsung s23 5g and the standard messaging isn't working

Its asking me to use sms

And data is very slow

Why is this happening?

My data is 50gb and im in a big town

Start with clearing the Message app cache and  Reset Network Settings on the phone

@Karyathena1 , I assume you mean that RCS is not working and you are given the option to use SMS instead.  RCS will not work without a data/WiFi connection.  How is the reception on your phone?  If it is decent, then data performance should be fine.  Maybe the local tower is having issues.
