Customer support basically recommended me to port out and in order to get the black Friday deals. I don't get why it's this tedious.

Good advise...BUT...those Cad/US/Mx plans were designed for winter snowbirds. They're a great plan to have for traveling PM'ers. Now, when snowbirds return home and only need the basics again...well.... now they're trapped in the more expensive plans and can't easy downgrade.

I just find it a pain. It just doesn't seem logical honestly.

They really changed from the way they used to be here. If you need a cheeper plan you will need to look elsewhere or go through the hassle of porting out and back in. There are a few providers out there with similar or even better deals then you will find here.

the plan you're interested in must be available for new activations. If you currently have a PM acct, the advise was to port away, then you could get a new PM sim to start a new account with the plan of your choosing. Unfortunaely, not all plans are available to existing customers any longer.
