Right. The entered email address is just a login id and is then also used for account verifications which wouldn't work if it was wrong.
And, as you've discovered, you can't change it yourself.

If you gave the wrong email address, you'll need to contact CS Agent to change that. You can't change that yourself.
You can contact an agent using the chatbot. Type "agent" and click contact us to go through the wizard.

If you finished the sign up process then you will have made the account. Are your services working?
