I bought a used iPhone 13. Usually I buy used iPhone to replace each time and all I have to do is move the SIM card to new one and do the usual stuff to sign in and move to new phone. This time I am stuck in SOS mode. I have done everything SIMon, apple and Google have suggested and it should be working but it isn’t. Help please. How do I get out of SOS mode?

@jeancarson   Perfect, happy that my blacklist suggestion helped to find out the root cause.  You should have checked that first and saved the Apple trip

(suprised that Apple stores not allowed to check the blacklist for you)

I went to Apple Store and all of their diagnostic tests said it should work and they aren’t allowed to check for black list but I can. It did say blacklisted when I entered the number. I can call Bell to see if they can remove it but I just bought a brand new phone instead

When you buy an used iPhone, you don't know which provider it was setup for.

1.  Update your iPhone from iOS settings app with your PM SIM card inserted.

2.  Restart your iPhone to initialize your iPhone for PM service.

3.  If this does not work, connect your iPhone to a computer running iTune app using a USB cable to update your iPhone.  Restart after update.

4. If your iPhone is still not working, create a support ticket to get CS Agent to send you PM configure file to your iPhone.  Restart.

Good luck.

@jeancarson

Chances are your phone is Blacklisted so follow @softech instruction to see if it is or not and let us know.

If you are near an Apple Genius store or any Cell repair shop, they can confirm if it is or not.

If your iPhone is stuck in SOS mode, it could be due to a number of reasons such as an issue with the SIM card, network connectivity, or software malfunction. Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try to resolve the issue:

  1. Turn off the iPhone, remove the SIM card and re-insert it again.

  2. Check your network connectivity:

  3. Update your iPhone software:

  4. Contact your carrier: If the above steps don't work, contact PM Customer service.

  5. ALSO  try restoring your iPhone to its factory settings. Before doing this, make sure you have backed up all your data. To restore your iPhone, go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.

If none of these steps work, it may be a hardware issue and you may need to take your iPhone to an authorized service center for further assistance.

I have to agree with softech, that scam is a common these days where they sell you a device that is stolen, or they report it stolen to get another device and basically run off with your money and continue the cycle of theft, you should check the devices IMEI immediately.
