I'm not entirely sure that Rogers would be better in rural, remote, or forested areas because of the 2g network.  The 2g network that they have has a frequecy range available in the same type of 850MHz range that is also used for 3g.  Telus also has that.  I'n not going to look up whether Rogers or Telus has a lower frequency in the Band 2 range, but the difference would likley be negligible.
