I signed up for auto pay this month for both mine and my husbands accounts. Our accounts both list our bill as $28 ($30, minus the $2 dollar reward for auto pay). However my credit card was charged $31.64 for each phone bill. Why the discrepancy and how can I get it corrected?

It's because of tax. They really need to give us a proper breakdown of the bill so people stop making these kind of posts. It's not like it'd be hard to either.

As confusing as it may seem, all the prepaid players have very similar practices in term of what payment history items look like in the account. I had a Bell prepaid plan for a while and when I top up $100, I only see $100 in my account but I am charged $113 for it. My Tbaytel prepaid account is identical to Bell. Actually if you look at the post paid billing, they show the plan cost without tax. Then tax is added on top. With prepaid the confusion arises because these services don't really provide a bill. So the taxes are not shown anywhere.

All carriers, bill the same way. Except Public Mobile. You are not billed, you are given a receipt at time of payment. for PM, it’s a voucher and paper receipt at the store. For credit card, it’s a txt message saying thanks for your payment.
In any case, all carriers advertise their plans without tax. You will see the fine print notes all prices will be charged regional HST and/or HST and PST
