Changing Plans

I currently have an old plan which cost $25/Mt and I want to change it to a cheaper plan of $19/Mt with the same features but this plan is only available for new subscribers. What can I do?

I tried arguing this but to no avail. Cheaper or comparable plans are only available to new subscribers and this leaves me out. I'm left feeling frustrated by an unfair PM policy. Thanks for your help.

@HellieBellie

How old is old? Is it the $25 1GB 3G? If so, what are the plans available to you in your change subscription?

If the $23 6GB plan is available, I suggest that you choose that one and wait for the opportunity for a cheaper plan to possibly become available in the future. You save $2 and you get five extra gigabytes at faster 4G speed. (FYI,  I am currently on the $20 3GB 4G plan and the $19 1GB 4G plan is also available to me in my change subscription).

On the other hand, if all that is available in your change subscription is a more expensive plan like the $27 20GB 4G plan, I would suggest that you open a ticket and ask a customer service agent to to switch you to a cheaper plan.

Generally, the customer service agents will not switch customers to a cheaper plan that is currently not available in your change subscription.

However, you could argue that recent changes to the PM network will soon render your old 3G plan completely obsolete. In my opinion, it would be unfair for Public Mobile to make you pay for a more expensive plan for more data which you really do not need due to their network change.

Good luck.

Hi, unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it. Public Mobile allows changes to plans that are in your self serve account only. If its not showing as available,  you can't change to it.
