Cannot send txt message. I have the US add on

I have the US ADD on in my plan, but I cannot send txt messages. I can receive, but cannot send. 

Do you know why?

@fmonte exactly which add-on(s) did you purchase?  If you bought the US Roaming Text add-on or one of the two bundles (which both include texting), you should be able to send.  If you only bought the talk add-on and/or data add-on, you will only be able to receive text messages and this is normal.

People were receiving texts in US without purchasing the addon so I am wondering if it is something else.  For network is it showing AT&T as a network?  When you go into your self serve you saw it was listed under your service and the money just didn't go to available funds as that has happened to many others as well.
