@JeannieL , did you receive an error message when trying to install the eSIM? Or did it install but just hasn’t activated?
If it was the last question then try these steps below to get the eSIM to work which has worked for a few of Us. If scanning the QR Code wouldn’t allow it to install on your phone please ignore my instructions below.
(I had my data on plus my Wi-Fi was turned on & connected to my home internet to be sure I had all connections while doing this)
Reboot your phone.
In cellular settings make sure that “Turn On This Line “ (for iPhone ) is selected. (I am not positive where the setting is on a different phone to turn it on, possibly ‘Turn on your eSIM under Mobile Network’), reboot your phone. (You may need to reset network settings then reboot)

But , also check your Sim Manager or Cellular screen to chexk od eSIM already installed and just not enabled
