Can't transfer a phone number from telus when activating sim

I am trying to activate my public mobile sim card and transfer my phone number from telus. Neither the Telus account number or the iemi are recognized. I cannot do anything at this point

You can't transfer your phone number directly while activating a new SIM card on Telus. However, you can initiate the transfer process separately. Here's how you can do it:

Here are two ways to transfer your phone number to Telus:-

1. Online:-

  • Log in to your My TELUS account. 
  • Go to "Plans & Devices" and select the number you want to transfer.
  • Choose "Manage your phone number" and then "Transfer your number to TELUS."
  • Follow the on-screen instructions, including providing details about your old number and service provider.
  • You'll receive a confirmation text message on your old SIM card. Reply "YES" within 90 minutes to confirm the transfer.

2. By Phone:-

  • Call Telus Prepaid at *611 from your Telus device.
  • Speak with a representative and request a phone number transfer.
  • They will guide you through the process and confirm the transfer via text message on your old SIM card.

Hi,

I don't have dual Sims in my phone, nor do I have esim capability.

As this is my business phone number, I don't want to loose access to my phone  number or have to switch sim cards back and forth to get different phone numbers.

My Telus account is active.

I have opened a support ticket.

Is your Telus account still active?

If it is you may want to try activating with a temporary number and then contacting customer support. To contact support you can submit a ticket through the chatbot by pressing the chat bubble in the bottom corner and typing in "submit a ticket" and selecting "Contact Us".
