Hello,
I am unable to receive verification SMS from various companies.
For example Google 2SV when signing into gmail from a different location.
Or online banking when adding a new payee.
They text you a code, and these are not coming through.
I have the new 4.5GB plan. Ported my number over from Bell yesterday.
Please advise what can be done to resolve this as I need this to work.

Tried different messaging app but cannot get verification sms or a call..

As this is a new service for you, did you bring your number with you via a port, or did you get a new number? Another thought, have you got a new phone, and could the number you’re using be directed towards a data app such as iMassage or Hangouts?
i know you’ve said you won’t install another app for SMS, but seriously, this could at least resolve the issue in the short term.

I'm using the default messaging app on Samsung Galaxy, I will not install another message App.

If everything is working except verification SMS, I suggest perhaps trying a different messaging app. Failing that, I suggest reaching out to the moderator team to see if there may be something wrong with the account setup.
